What are reserve materials?
Reserves are any items (books, articles, magazines, DVDs, etc...) that instructors have asked the library to make available for students to share. Most reserve items can only be used in the library for two hours at a time. Reserve materials may be photocopied in the library for five cents per page.
Are any reserve items available online?
Sorry, at this time none of our reserve materials are available online.
How do I access reserve materials?
Reserve materials are kept behind the circulation desk. To use them, go to the desk and ask the library staff for what you need. We will need to know your class name and number (for example, English 111) as well as the title of the item (for example, Rules for Writers).
Do reserve materials have to be checked out with my library card?
Yes. Even though most reserves are used in the library only, we must check them out to you.
Are all textbooks on reserve?
No. However, the library does have many course textbooks available and we strive to make texts available to students.
iLink is the online catalog of all the materials (books, DVDs, music CDs, etc...) available in the Durham Tech Library.
Also included are the holdings of other NC community college libraries that make up the Community Colleges Libraries in North Carolina consortium (CCLINC).
The default search is Durham Tech Library but you can also search "All NC Community Colleges" by word or phrase, author, or title.
You can borrow materials belonging to other libraries through Interlibrary Loan (requires your library card barcode number).
You can renew books or check due dates by using My Account (requires your library card barcode number).
Use the Gale Literary Index on the Gale website to locate criticism in our print reference collection.
