The North Carolina Community College System launched an OER initiative in December 2020. Use their platform to discover or share open education tools and ideas.

Both an OER repository and an OER community, MERLOT offers over 90,000 learning resources and tools to create and store OER that you create.

The state of Oregon has a robust OER initiative in higher education. Peruse open textbooks currently in use in Oregon colleges and universities.

OpenStax features peer-reviewed OER and supplemental resources. It has also partnered with bookstores to make affordable print copies of its resources available for purchase.

In addition to providing a platform for open textbooks, Open Textbook Library includes reviews by "faculty working at institutions and consortia that are members of the Open Education Network (OEN)."

Pressbooks Directory is a free, searchable catalog that includes nearly 6,000 open access books from more than 150 organizations.

Sponsored by Virginia's academic library consortium (VIVA) and developed with the help of ISKME, VIVA Open is a repository and OER community serving academic libraries in Virginia.

The MOM searches over 20 different repositories. It includes both OER-specific sites and sources of public domain and other content that can be used in the same way as OER.
It is a powerful, versatile search tool. If you find that you are retrieving too many results, consider using the filters to narrow your search to specific sites.

Open Education North Carolina (OENC) is a service of NC LIVE. You can find some OER textbooks that are well-suited to some of the most commonly-taught college and university classes in North Carolina.

Virginia Tech's OER guide has a handy tool that allows you to search by subject.

Select the option "I want something that I can modify, adapt, or build upon" and a source (Flikr is good for photos), and you will be able to use the images that you find.
