- Chapel Hill Astronomical and Observational Society (CHAOS)
The Chapel Hill Astronomical and Observational Society (CHAOS) welcomes everyone interested in Astronomy. We provide a friendly session where you can increase your knowledge of astronomy, enjoy the wonders of the night sky, and most importantly, have fun with other members of the club. We vary widely in experience and knowledge, from beginners to professional astronomers (beginners may be interested in some advice on Starting Right), but we all share an interest in the night sky.

- American Astronomical Society (AAS)
The American Astronomical Society (AAS) is the major organization of professional astronomers in North America.The AAS seeks to increase public support for scientific research, improve science education at all levels, attract young people to careers in science and technology, and make evident the connections between science, technology, and prosperity. A top priority is to train the next generation of astronomers to become successful scientific researchers and educators.
- International Astronomical Union (IAU)
The International Astronomical Union is a collection of professional astronomers, at the Ph.D. level and beyond, active in professional research and education in astronomy. It acts as the internationally recognized authority for assigning designations to celestial bodies (stars, planets, asteroids, etc.) and any surface features on them.
- Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS)
Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS) is a non-profit that empowers young people to participate and make an impact in space exploration. SEDS helps students develop their technical and leadership skills by providing opportunities to manage and participate in national projects as well as to attend conferences, publish their work, and develop their professional network, in order to help students become more effective in their present and future careers in industry, academia, government, and education.
