Dr. Phail Wynn Jr. Collection

This guide highlights the many physical book titles available in Durham Tech Library's Dr. Phail Wynn Jr. Collection. This collection addresses social responsibility and civic engagement, including topics such as ecology and environmental studies.

Scope of Collection

The Dr. Phail Wynn Jr. Collection was established in 2007, following Dr. Wynn's 27 years of service as president of Durham Tech. The collection was supported through Dr. Wynn's personal philanthropy until his passing in 2018. In 2019, Durham Tech Library announced a $50,000 endowment award from the North Carolina GlaxoSmithKline foundation.

The collection honors Dr. Wynn's memory through a commitment to cultural awareness, tolerance, diversity, environmental conversation, sustainability, and peace. The collection can be found on the upper level of the library, next to the printing computers. Books in this collection check out for the same amount of time as our general collection. If you need help finding the location once in the library, ask a library staff member for assistance.
