If you need a computer and would like Durham Tech to help provide you with one, the first step is to fill out the Technology Assistance Form.
You will be contacted and will find out if you qualify for a loaner Chromebook or if you're eligible for other computer options.
Other options include purchasing a low-cost computer, getting a technology scholarship for the purchase of a computer, or qualifying for low-cost internet or a hot spot.
Only currently enrolled Durham Tech students are eligible for this assistance.
The Center for Academic Excellence offers Tech Skills Coaching for students enrolled in online/hybrid courses.
They offer assistance with Sakai, such as uploading and retrieving assignments, locating course-related documents such as the syllabus, and navigating basic functions in Sakai.
They also provide tutoring on skills such as saving a document on a flash drive, computer, or in the cloud; creating folders to store coursework, and understanding how to use Microsoft Office.
The tech skills coach helps with student skills such as study skills, note-taking skills, test-taking skills, and more!
